A Green card allows a person to enjoy the merit of being able to live and work permanently in any territory of the United States. There are 2 main types of green cards, conditional green cards and unconditional green cards.
Conditional green cards are issued subject to certain terms that must be fulfilled to retain the green card. As soon as the requirements are fulfilled the condition on the green card will be removed and a permanent green card can be obtained. Some of the conditions could include establishing the longevity of a marriage without divorce in case of green card via marriage, success rate of business for a green card investment, genuine nature of adoption in case of a green card adoption, some terms of employment like performance of employee in employment in a green card employment along with other possible conditions.
Unconditional green cards are valid for an indefinite period of time; however, green cards that have an expiration date on it should be renewed. Some green cards are meant for people less than 14 years of age and such should be replaced when the green card holder matures with age.
The green card can be obtained for several reasons such as:-
